 Doing our bit in Britain

We hope our initiative for a Clean Climate & Clean Air Britain will encourage others to do their bit for Future Generations around the World.

Climate change and Clean Air are often treated as a political issue, but it shouldn’t be.

The facts are that the Earth’s average land temperature has warmed nearly 1°C in the past 50 years as a result of human activity and atmospheric concentrations of the major greenhouse gases are at their highest level in 800,000 years. World Economic Forum data 2017 – Accord de Paris

Defending the most precious thing we have!

The facts are the climate of our planet is changing at a pace unlike anything seen in the natural fluctuations traced across geological records, and scientists have overwhelmingly traced this global warming trend to human activity. Clean Climate Britain works to improve the health of people living in Britain by reducing the amount of Carbon Emissions and improving the Air that we breathe.

Global Warming

Global warming occurs when carbon dioxide (CO2) and other air pollutants and greenhouse gases collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar radiation that have bounced off the earth’s surface. Normally, this radiation would escape into space—but these pollutants, which can last for years to centuries in the atmosphere, trap the heat and cause the planet to get hotter. That’s what’s known as the greenhouse effect.

Climate Change

Climate change has serious and long-lasting implications for us all. Clean Climate Britain is taking action to reduce the impacts of climate change that are affecting Britain right now so our future generations can have the benefit of our actions.

 The No.1 Global Challenge

The Facts

The facts are the climate of our planet is changing at a pace unlike anything seen in the natural fluctuations traced across geological records, and scientists have overwhelmingly traced this global warming trend to human activity. Clean Climate Britain works to reduce the amount of Carbon Emissions produced in Britain.

Reducing Carbon Emissions in Britain

Carbon dioxide (CO2), Nitrogen dioxide (NOx), Particulate Matter (PM) is part of a group of gaseous air pollutants produced as a result of road traffic and other fossil fuel combustion processes.

Not all Doom and Gloom

Clean Climate Britain does not believe that it is all doom and gloom.Everyone can do their bit to help prevent the effects of climate change and take measures to improve the Air that they breathe.

Everyone including Politicians! Are getting more aware of the dangers we face if we do not do anything to combat the effects of Climate Change and the poor quality of Air that our people breathe.

Attitudes are changing

Attitudes are changing from coffee cups to plastics to the emissions we generate from our vehicles so we remain optimistic about the future and if we all do our bit to help prevent the effects of Climate Change our future generations will grow up in a Cleaner + Healthier World

Supporting the Woodland Trust & Tree Charter

During 2017 the Woodland Trust reached out to all sections of UK society to define this new charter, and to build a people-powered movement for trees. More than 70 organisations and 300 local community groups answered the call and helped to collect over 60,000 tree stories from people across the UK, demonstrating the important role that trees play in their lives.

These stories were read and shared, and helped to define the 10 Principles of the Tree Charter, ensuring that it stands for every tree and every person in the UK.

The Evidence

  • Global temperature rise
  • Warming oceans
  • Shrinking ice sheets
  • Glacial retreat
  • Decreased snow cover
  • Sea level rise
  • Declining Arctic sea ice
  • Extreme events
  • Ocean acidification

Sir David Attenborough

Quote ” the truth is the; the Natural world is changing. We are totally dependent on that world. It provides ore food, water and air. Its the most precious thing we have and we need to defend it” unquote.

Our Ocean conference Malta Oct 2017

Nearly half of the World’s population depends directly on the sea for their livelihoods. We all rely on the oceans in some way: for our water, our food, our climate and our air. But human activity has left the oceans suffering from pollution, over exploitation, coastal degradation and global warming.

Turning OFF the Plastic Tap

We need to reduce the amount of Plastic we produce globally Quickly and Together. We produce so much plastic which inevitably ends up in the wrong place. We need to encourage manufacturers to produce packaging that is environmentally friendly and more practical.

Smarter Power Systems

Major changes to the way electricity is produced, used and stored will result in Smarter Power Systems. Renewable Energy technology today will benefit from advances in Storage of the resources generated. Places such as Warwick University Energy Innovation Centre is a national facility for battery research across the R&D process from materials and electrochemistry through to application integration and recycling / re-use. Their facilities support test, development and scale up of new battery chemistries from concept through to full proven traction batteries, produced in sufficient quantities for detailed industrial evaluation in target applications.

 Energy Storage

Storage of electrical energy is generally a complex and expensive challenge. New and improved solutions are required to balance the evolving supply of and demand for energy across applications including automotive, manufacturing and grid. As demands continue to change and grow, suppliers and manufacturers will be expected to manage and improve infrastructure and technology solutions to keep pace.

Britain’s Smart Energy

Energy supplies are changing and it will down to mix of Customer and Suppliers to Manage and Control Energy efficiency through Smart Technologies in the home and Customer Relationship Management systems in Business. Energy Suppliers will be able to switch on / off remotely to save Energy and control costs.

Tidal Energy

Tidal energy is a form of hydro-power that converts the energy of the tides into electricity or other useful forms of power. The tide is created by the gravitational effect of the sun and the moon on the earth causing cyclical movement of the seas.

 Green & Sustainable Buildings

Green building (also known as green construction or sustainable building) refers to both a structure and the application of processes that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building’s life-cycle: from planning to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and demolition.

The Future of Rural Energy in Britain

Many homes and businesses in our Rural Communities are off-grid and have little option in choosing high-polluting energy sources, such as coal, heating oil or wood. They have a higher carbon footprint than they need to and often higher, per person, than their urban contemporaries, this is an opportunity for Rural Communities to embrace Renewable Energy.
